RFID Prototyping and Testing Platform
ORL is an open source platform that enables UHF RFID prototyping and testing. This project aims to fundamentally improve RFID operational efficiency through experimental study. ORL allows fast prototyping of various RFID protocols and cross layer design such as efficient identification, cardinality estimation, and tag searching. ORL provides full access to the RFID PHY/MAC and can be used to test commodity RFID tags as well as computational RFID tags.

Testbed
We implement UHF RFID reader using USRP N210 software radio to interrogate WISP tags. The reader uses USRP RFX900 dadughterboard as the frontend working at 900MHz ISM band. Two Alien circular polarized antennas are connected to the daughterboard to increase transmission power and receiption sensitivity. PHY symbols are transmitted to the laptop and processed based on the GNURadio toolkit.

Software
The source code for USRP2 RFID reader is available on GitHub, which is developed based on Gen2 RFID Tools. We extend the code to support USRP2 and revise several signal processing modules such as clock synchronization and tag response detection.
