Access Control and Trust Management in Federated Cloud Based Infrastructures

Monday, 15th December 2014, 2:00 am (SCE Meeting Room)
Speaker: Yuri Demchenko (University of Amsterdam)
Title: Access Control and Trust Management in Federated Cloud Based Infrastructures

The seminar will start with the overview of modern e-Science use cases that deal with Big Data and require federated cloud based infrastructure to support both managing large amount of distributed scientific data and support effective collaboration of distributed groups of researches. Federated access control and data security in the generally heterogeneous multi-provider cloud infrastructure will require special mechanisms and services to allow consistent security context management and dynamic trust associations establishment. The seminar will also overview access control and federation services provided by the major cloud providers Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. It will also provide background information about Intercloud Architecture Framework and related research at the University of Amsterdam and IEEE Intercloud Testbed Initiative.
